Our peaceful surrounds on the fringe of suburbia provide an idyllic setting for student education. Our students, parents and teachers take pride in the upkeep of our facilities on a daily basis, supported closely by our student led Sustainability Committee.
Our three pristine classrooms, Library/ German room, Music room and Multi-purpose room provide dedicated spaces for students to learn. With weekly STEM teaching provided by our specialist teacher, as well as the Yarra Valley Regional Public Library, we are never far from a rich source of reading material.
The architect designed, light filled Multi-Purpose Room is a recent addition to the school. This space is used for a range of activities and is large enough for the whole school to come together for assembly, Art, talks, visiting incursions and some sporting activities.
We encourage outdoor education as a crucial element of student development. Our local oval is utilised for interschool sports while students enjoy the Sports shed and upgraded basketball court on a daily basis.
With the inclusion of a flourishing vegetable garden parents and students work alongside one another to produce home grown foods, culminating in an end of term Cook-Off. Our chooks are an important part of student learning. Our Chicken Committee work with all other students to ensure the care of them daily.
Cubby house building is a unique pleasure for students at our school. We promote creative, imaginative play for all ages. During recent years we have been supported by the Department of Education with grants to upgrade internal rooms and during 2015 a toilet upgrade will take place.
Our rotunda (shelter shed) has recently been upgraded by our past Grade 6 students as part of their whole year special project, complemented with an outdoor chess area, fairy garden and additional vegetable boxes.
